We doubt that you missed the news from Apple about the release of new Apple MacBook Pro. The new model, naturally, has a thinner design, lighter body, and brighter display. Undoubtedly, these three points become the centre of attention for many manufacturers. Let’s take a closer look and see what the other improvements are.
With constant technological advances, you may expect that the new model is always “the fastest and the bestest”. Yet, performance improvement appears to be not the best selling strategy. Processor speed? What is a processor, who digs it anyway? That is how new 13-inch MacBook Pro is equipped with only Intel i5 processor and maximum 16GB of DDR3 RAM. However, the new model has cool programmable OLED touch bar and a fingerprint scanner. The touch bar is quite a nifty thing. Even Final Cut Pro X alongside with few other apps have already received an update for it.
On the bright side, new MacBook Pro does have a faster SSD hard drives. These are, supposedly, up to 100% faster. The models are equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack and 4 Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports. They replace a charging port with all the data and video ports. Consequently, you will need an adaptor to use other devices alongside.
Specialists from iFixit had their ways with the laptop already. They disassembled the device and analysed its insides. They rated its repairability and gave 2 points out of 10. In their opinion the device is barely repairable. However, a few parts as screen and trackpad may be replaced.
Nevertheless, the new Apple MacBook Pro is beating the records in sales. Already within first 5 days on the market, the numbers of sales of new laptops reached 2015 MacBook’s number of sales attained within the entire year. The prices are equally astonishing. They vary between £1500 and £2700. So you may need to sell your Mac in order to get a new one.
